Florence with a boat trip on the Arno
The most romantic way to discover the “cradle of the Renaissance” and see the city from a very different perspective.
Your introduction to Florence begins with a walk:
You’ll see Piazza della Repubblica, the ancient Roman forum;
the one-of-a-kind Orsanmichele church;
throw a coin into the wishing fountain;
walk to one of Italy’s most beautiful squares, Piazza della Signoria.
Walk through the Uffizi Gallery square and proceed to the pier, where a boat with a professional renaiolo – the Florentine equivalent of Venetian gondoliers – will be waiting for you.
Elegant palaces adorning the Arno embankments,
Learn the stories of the Florentine aristocrats who still live in them,
Swim under the famous Ponte Vecchio bridge and Florence’s most elegant bridge, the Ponte Santa Trinita.
All accompanied by a glass of refreshing Prosecco.
Back on shore you’ll continue exploring the city: see the church of Santa Croce;
the house where Michelangelo spent his childhood;
walk through the ornate medieval streets where Dante Alighieri once walked.
The tour ends in the Cathedral Square, where the famous cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, topped by Brunelleschi’s dome, stands.
The tour is only available from May to the end of September
In times of bad weather (rain or strong winds), which is rare in Florence during the summer months, boat trips are suspended for safety reasons. In this case, a classic walking tour of the city will be organised.
