INTERLAKEN – TRUMMELBACH WATERFALLS

The town of Interlaken, whose name means “town between the lakes” in the local dialect, is famous for its beautiful panoramic view of the Jungfrau mountain range. This picturesque town will give you unforgettable memories. Don’t miss the opportunity to stroll through the cosy alleys, shop, have a cup of coffee in one of the street cafes, enjoy the coolness of a shady alley or take a fiacre (horse-drawn carriage) ride along the central boulevard of Höeveg. Be sure to admire one of Interlaken’s most beautiful areas, the “Japanese Garden”, laid out in honour of the Japanese sister city of Otsu.

The Trümmelbach Waterfalls are the most original waterfalls in Europe. Right inside the rocks, gathering streams from melting glaciers the highest peaks of the Jungfrau region, a powerful stream (more than 20,000 litres per second) rushes into the valley. The movement of the water over the millennia has formed amazing funnels, ledges and hollows, which can be viewed by travelling over the waterfalls on comfortable and stable bridges.
