Spreewald – Legends of the Spree

The Lusatian Sorbian settlements are descendants of the Slavs who inhabited this area since the 6th century. This place enchants with its nature and the unique culture of the Lusatian Sorbs. The Spree River forms a labyrinth of more than 300 branches. Boats reminiscent of Venetian gondolas navigate the canals of the Spreewald region.

During the excursion, we’ll stroll through the town of Lübbenau, where Count Moritz Karl Linar, Anna Leopoldovna’s favorite, is buried in the church.

We’ll take a boat to the village of Lede, where 18th- and 19th-century houses have been preserved, and of course, we’ll sample the famous Spreewald cucumbers, the most famous product of the GDR, still produced to this day.
