Europe enters the new 20th century.
Everyone is looking forward to cloudless happiness, justice, and abundance. Milan is changing before our eyes, luxurious mansions in the new and very fashionable Art Nouveau style (in the capital of Lombardy, this style will be called Liberty) are appearing on the central streets of the city.
But soon it will all end, the First World War will begin, and the lace wrought iron grilles, exquisite mosaics will become too expensive.
You will stroll through one of the most beautiful neighborhoods of the city, where Milanese nobility still resides. By the way, the Dolce & Gabbana penthouse, the Trussardi apartment are also here.
And then you will find yourself in the 1930s and visit the elegant Villa Necchi Campiglio, where even crowned heads often stayed.
The historical residence – a house museum in the city of Milan. Founded in May 2008. Located on Mozart Street in a building constructed between 1932-1935 in the Italian rationalism style designed by Piero Portaluppi; the interiors were designed by architect Tomazo Bucci.
In the early 1950s, Necchi, returning to their home, hired the famous decorator – Tomazo Bucci. He brought into the villa’s interior the classics of the 19th century, and also hung tapestries everywhere, which they loved so much. Some rooms, surprisingly, underwent no changes and remained as designed by Portaluppi. Thus, in the frames of the film ‘I Am Love’ you can see the famous corner room of the winter garden. Everything there has remained as before – the asymmetric floor made of travertine, the emerald upholstery of the soft furniture, the neat coffee table…
