Murano Glass Workshop Tour:
Have you ever wondered how Venetian glassware is created? And why this art is so appreciated?”
Glass fusing, even today, is a completely manual job, requiring physical effort, especially at the furnace, as well as grace, precision, speed and manual dexterity, perfect knowledge of the primary raw materials, from silicon to metal oxides, which reaches professionalism through years and years of experience.
For glassblowing, the island of Murano is the world capital, thanks to the thousands of years of knowledge and experience that have been accumulated here. On Murano, Murano glass jewellery in shop windows, multicoloured Murrina beads, kiln fireplaces and showrooms are the most characteristic landscape.
We invite you to discover this magical world by watching the skilful work of a glassblower at the kiln or experiencing the sheer delight and excitement of shaping glass with your own hands thanks to a hands-on lamework course with a master glass artisan.
Your child will definitely enjoy the process of making animal figurines out of Venetian glass. There are many workshops on the island that show the magic of creating colourful Venetian souvenirs. You will be able to blow your own toy.
You will ONLY be able to pick up the product the next day, as the toy must cool down.
We also offer master classes in Murano glass jewellery:
Master classes are suitable for children from 10 years old (in the presence of a parent during the class).
You will be able to create at least five Murano glass beads in 1.5 hours.
About 20 beads will take about 3 hours to create.
If you would like to create a set (e.g. beads or pendant and earrings), we recommend the 8-hour course including bead making and assembly (planned for 2 days). This is enough time to create earrings and necklace or beads and bracelet. You can create a complete Murano glass jewellery set for yourself.
You can also dedicate time to creating glass beads in a torch flame over several days. You will gradually delve into more complex techniques to create decorative, sculptural or other Venetian glass elements.
You can request an assistant interpreter from our managers.
