On the tour you will see:
The Santa Lucia Station stands on the Grand Canal and is the barrier that separates Venice from the rest of the world. You are immediately immersed in the incomparable atmosphere of this unique city in the world by walking a few metres along the Lista di Spagna, a typical Venetian street crossed by numerous canals;
The Church of Saint Jeremiah – known as the centre of the cult of Saint Lucia of Syracuse, whose relics are kept inside;
The Ghetto quarter, where Venice does not look like itself, because here you can see nine-story buildings that have grown tall due to the impossibility of growing in width;
Sinagogues, extremely modest on the outside and overly luxurious on the inside, recognisable only by the presence of five windows (visit possible only with a local guide with an interpreter);
The Church of the Madonna dell’Orto – and the square of the same name, with its extraordinary pavement laid out like a fish spine – is home to Tintoretto’s paintings, which have made both the master and the church famous;
The house of Tintoretto, a prominent Venetian painter;
The Misericordia (Mercy) Quarter with its opulent palaces – it is also home to the Nail, one of the few Venetian bridges without railings;
The Abbey, built in late Gothic style;
The famous “spirit house” – stands in the north near a small bay. This house was once owned by a very rich Venetian nobile Contarini;
Jesuit Church – the place where Titian’s house and workshop used to be;
Church of the Madonna of the Miraculous, 15th century, faced both inside and outside with polychrome marble;
Piazza Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari – Mary the Beautiful – with the church of the same name, built as early as 639.
The House of Vivaldi – Antonio Vivaldi, a native of Venice;
The House of Canaletto – Antonio Canaletto, an 18th century Venetian painter;
Mercerie Street – This is where the most crowded and glittering Mercerie Street (meaning “haberdashery trade”) begins. This street is considered large, but that’s only in Venetian terms;
St Mark’s Square is the main square of Venice.
