City of Amalfi:
Piazza Flavio Gioia – The square is named after Flavio Gioia, a local navigator who lived in the 13th and 14th centuries and who invented (according to another version, perfected) the compass.
Cathedral (Courtyard of Eden, frescoes by Pietro Cavallini, Crypt (relics of St Andrew) – St Andrew’s Cathedral in Amalfi is a Catholic cathedral in the town of Amalfi in Italy. It was built between the 9th and 10th centuries, originally in the Arab-Norman style.
Walk through the typical streets of the town:
The Monastery of Paradise -built in the 13th century and decorated with interesting mosaic panels and beautiful marble columns, the architecture of which clearly shows the Arab influence.
Paper Museum (optional visit) – Amalfi has been famous for its particularly valuable paper since the Middle Ages; it was called Amalfi paper.
Drive to Ravello:
Villa Rufolo – It is a well-preserved 13th century ruin surrounded by magnificent tropical gardens.
Villa Cimbrone – Famous for its “Terrace of Infinity”, located at the end of a long avenue 350 metres above the sea. From here you can enjoy what many consider to be the most beautiful panorama in the world.
Cathedral – named after St Panteleimon, the great healer, has preserved the interiors of the XI-XII centuries, there is a capsule with his blood.
Transfer to the town of Positano:
Walk around the town (you can have lunch in one of the restaurants located on the shore, overlooking the islands of Li Galli (property of Myasin, then Nuriev, and now a rich Italian family).
