Brescia. The white marble of Brixia.
The city of Brescia is located in the foothills of the Alps, 150 metres above sea level. Brescia is close to Lake Garda and is surrounded by numerous forests. Brescia was founded long before the Romans arrived and is therefore historically interesting.
There are still remains of Roman buildings, fortified ramparts converted into walking areas and a fortified fortress perched on a steep cliff above the town.
Many of Brescia’s attractions are included in the UNESCO list.
The Roman Forum, the main square of the ancient city, dates back to the 1st century B.C. Although many of the buildings are in the form of foundations, the Roman temple Capitolium, built in 73 A.D., the Roman sanctuary, the Roman sanctuary, the Republican sanctuary, the Roman temple of the Capitolium, the Roman sanctuary, the Roman sanctuary, and the Roman temple of the Capitolium, built in 73 A.D., have been preserved,

Besides religious monuments there are many other historical sites. Among them are the Palazzo del Loggia, the old town hall, and the Grand Theatre.
