We suggest you to visit one of the most popular resorts of France – the town of Chamonix. This paradise is located near the highest peak in Western Europe Mont Blanc (4810m). In 1924 the first Winter Olympic Games were organised here. You will see the longest funicular in the world, which takes tourists to the foot of Mont Blanc peak at a height of 3842m. In summer Chamonix becomes the mountaineering capital of the world, attracting not only climbers but also hikers, mountain bikers and summer glacier skiing. From the summit of the Eguy du Midi (3842 metres) you will enjoy a unique panoramic view of the French Alps, the majestic Mont Blanc, numerous glaciers and breathtaking rocky slopes. You will not find such a variety of mountain terrain anywhere else in the world.
After lunch you will continue your journey to Annecy, a charming town on the shores of the lake of the same name. Its numerous canals and bridges give it some resemblance to Italy’s Venice. Cosy and hospitable, it is very popular with holidaymakers. Lake Annecy is considered one of the cleanest lakes in Europe. You can take an hour-long ferry ride and admire the local beauty or soak up the sun and swim on one of Annecy’s beaches.
