Upon prior agreement, a visit to a wine cellar with wine tasting can be included. Visit to Isla Bella with villa and garden. A short stop for lunch in the picturesque Fishermen’s Island.

Walk around Stresa, visiting the whole group of Borromeo islands: Madre Island with villa and park in English style, Fishermen’s Island (here a stop for lunch is suggested), Bella Island. The famous Baroque garden consists of 10 terraces in imitation of the legendary gardens of the Babylonian Queen Semiramis.

For lovers of mountain landscapes. Walk around Stresa, climbing Mottarone mountain (1491 metres). Here you can admire a breathtaking panorama of seven alpine lakes, the Italian and Swiss Alps. A cable car is available for the ascent, but there is also a motorway. Getting off at the intermediate station of the cable car you can visit the Alpinia Botanical Garden (2 thousand plants of the alpine zone). At the top you can have lunch in one of the mountain chalets offering traditional cuisine. If you are only interested in climbing the mountain without visiting the Botanical Gardens, you can add a motorised scafé ride on the bay or visit the Fishermen’s Islands.
Stresa, Arona, Villa Pallavicino – duration from 5 hours:
Stop in Arona to see the statue of St Charles (2nd largest in the world after the Statue of Liberty in New York). If you wish, you can climb up to the observation deck located at the head of the statue. Stroll around Stresa, visit Villa Pallavicino with its picturesque park and zoological garden. The villa can be reached from the centre of Stresa by a nice tourist steam train.
