The Roman Bridge, built in ancient Roman times, connects the banks of the Guadalquivir River. On the territory of the royal Alcazar there are luxurious gardens, with fountains and orange trees. The famous Roman philosopher Seneca, whose monument is located at the fortress wall of the old city, was born in Cordoba. Here, in the narrow streets, there is also a monument to Avicenna, the famous physician and philosopher who lived in the Jewish quarter.
