LE CORNELLE ZOO

An amusement park and zoo in Valbrembo, near Bergamo, an hour’s drive from Milan, created by Angelo Ferruccio Benedetti in 1981, covers an area of 100,000 square metres.

In Le Cornelle Wildlife Park, all the animals are in a familiar environment, they are not confined in cramped enclosures but walk freely throughout the park.

Rare species whose populations are on the verge of extinction have found a home at Le Cornelle. White Bengal tigers have completely disappeared in the wild, and Le Cornelle provides them with the perfect conditions to live and breed.

Snow leopards, white lions, hyacinth ara, antelopes and cheetahs, elephants and hippos, lemurs and parrots – all these animals do well in this amazing place.

Students from the University of Milan intern at Le Cornelle, observing, understanding and caring for the animals. The research helps the young scientists to better understand the relationship between man and nature.

The park has special excursion routes for guests, during which visitors can walk through a real tropical landscape and see the animals.

The park has a restaurant and pizzeria, a picnic area and shops with souvenirs, as well as a children’s play area.

The park is open from March to October
