Cathedral – St Martin’s Church, a Roman Catholic church consecrated in the name of Martin of Tours, with the pulpit of the Archbishop of Lucca. It was founded in the 6th century and took its present form in the 11th century
The Baptistery of San Giovanni was built in the 12th century. The building was substantially rebuilt in the late 12th and 17th centuries
Piazza Napoleon – As a tribute to the Emperor, The square was named after him and a giant statue of Napoleon was to be placed in the centre
The Church of Santa Maria Forisportam – also called Santa Maria Bianca – is a Roman Catholic church in Romanesque style
Guinigi Tower An example of local Romanesque-Gothic architecture. One of the few surviving towers of the old town. The distinctive feature that has made the tower a hallmark of Lucca is the small oak grove at its top.
The Clock Tower is the tallest tower in Lucca. It was built in the early 14th century, and in 1390 it housed a clock.
Roman Amphitheatre Square – The square is located on the ruins of an amphitheatre built in the late 1st century AD.
Church of San Frediana – impressive with mosaics on the facade, one of the oldest churches in Lucca
Church of St Michael – built on the site of an ancient forum.
