A walk along the main boulevard of the city – Alameda Prinsipal – will allow you to see the elegant palace Palacio de la Aduana (XVIII century.), Antico Correos (old post office, early XX century.) and stunning neobaroque building of the municipality (XX century.). Earlier monuments include the quaint Cathedral of Málaga (16th century), the majestic Alcazaba fortress (palace of the Moorish rulers of Málaga, 9th century) with two rings of walls, numerous towers and fortified gates, and the lighthouse castle of Jibralfaro.
