Lombardy is one of the most famous Italian regions, a region rich in history, monuments and architectural masterpieces. It is the result of a large number of wealthy people, often families, who built majestic impregnable fortresses and estates on their territories. They were especially numerous between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
