Naples Zoo.

Naples Zoo:

This is a beautiful zoo located on the outskirts of Naples. Lo Zoo di Napoli is one of the oldest zoos in Italy. It is a popular holiday destination for the citizens of the city. In addition, thousands of guests of the city visit it every year. On the territory of 100,000 square metres today there are more than 90 species of animals, birds and reptiles. Many of them are very rare and are on the verge of extinction in the wild. The zoo grounds themselves are also of interest, as well as valuable and rare plants.

Here you can enjoy watching animals in their natural habitat. The zoo is known for its cleanliness and peaceful atmosphere, making it an ideal place to relax and escape the summer heat. You will get the opportunity to see many different species of animals. It also offers a wide range of drinks and food. The zoo is compact, so you can explore it in a few hours. The main attractions include elephants, lions, tigers, leopards and a reptile house. The zoo takes good care of its animals and they look happy and healthy. There are also playgrounds for children to have fun and enjoy a beautiful day among the animals.

The Zoological Garden of Naples is located in the Fuorigrotta district. It is adjacent to the Mostra d’Oltremare, Italy’s largest shopping and exhibition centre, the Edenlandia amusement park, an archaeological park and several theatres.

The special feature of Lo Zoo di Napoli is that today it has created conditions as close as possible to those in which animals are found in the wild. The animal habitats were completely renovated between 2014 and 2016.

Walking through the park, you will meet representatives of all five continents. A separate area is dedicated to reptiles, and there is a crocodile farm. The savannah zone is home to antelopes, zebras, giraffes, hippos and rhinos. A large area is reserved for elephants, tigers and lions. You can observe bears, lemurs, kangaroos and seals. There is a pond for waterfowl and a space for large birds of prey, aviaries for ostriches, an area for cranes, pelicans and peacocks.

To the delight of children and adults, Lo Zoo di Napoli has a “Learning Farm”. This is an area where geese, goats, rabbits and other domestic animals are free to walk among the visitors. You can feed them, pet them and simply observe their behaviour. Zoo staff explain to children how to interact respectfully with the animals so as not to harm them.

The Naples Zoo is a botanical garden. Here valuable plant species from Europe, Africa, Asia, America and Oceania are grown. A total of 202 unique specimens.
