NATURE RESERVE

Tour of the Bellavista Nature Reserve.

The Bellavista peninsula is a kind of island within an island, an unspoilt wildlife paradise. In this micro-system there is the Bellavista Natural and Faunal Reserve, 40 hectares long, inhabited by typical species of flora and fauna of Sardinia.

Guests of the tourist complex have free access to the park with a choice of numerous excursion routes to observe animal life in its natural habitat and enjoy fantastic views of the typical red rocks of Arbatax, the plain of Ollastra and the Monte Santo Marine Reserve.

The rangers of the complex organise guided tours to discover the natural beauty of the park and the animals that inhabit it.

The area with the animals is actually on a mountain, you must be prepared for a difficult ascent and descent on foot.

The animals can be hand-fed grain, see the Sardinian vegetable garden and take photos of the town of Tortoli (the view from the mountain is spectacular).

Children will be delighted to see ostriches, deer, donkeys and other animals. On the tour, the youngest ones are taken into a paddock with ponies and lambs. Adults, like children, also babysit the animals.

There is also a organic vegetable garden called “L’Ortino” where vegetables, herbs and pulses are grown in an organic way. Organic products are supplied to some of the restaurants of the tourist complex Arbatax Park.

In addition, here you will find the restaurant Il Pastore which offers typical Sardinian specialities. The restaurant has a terrace with a breathtaking panoramic view and its unusual decoration with tables carved from blocks of raw granite and inlaid chairs made of stumps.

The tours are conducted in English and Italian, if you need an interpreting assistant, our managers will help you with this.
