Pilatus

We invite you to delve into the world of legends and myths surrounding Mt Pilatus. In medieval times, locals believed in winged dragons that supposedly inhabited the mountain caves. According to legend, the body of the Roman governor of Judea, Pontius Pilate, found its final resting place in the depths of the mountain lake. For a long time climbing the mountain was forbidden. Now Pilatus is one of the most popular sightseeing tours in Switzerland. Here you will find the longest rodeelbahn in Switzerland – 1350 m. A cog railway with the steepest ascent in the world takes you to the top of Pilatus-Klum (2132 m). Here you can walk along the observation platforms and admire the circular panorama of the snow-capped Alps. The “Way of the Dragon”, a gallery with paintings by the famous Hans Jerni, is a pleasant experience.
