The Vatican Museums are not only the world’s richest collection of ancient art, but also an amazing museum where the walls and vaults are painted by the greatest Renaissance artists. They cannot be taken out for temporary exhibitions. Therefore, it is necessary to come here!

    Dress code (common to museums and the cathedral)

    Knees and shoulders must be covered, clothes must be without cleavage or cut-outs

    T-shirts, shorts, miniskirts (beachwear) are not allowed. In summer, ladies can bring a light shawl or scarf to cover their shoulders, men must be strictly in trousers

    Hats are not allowed

    The Vatican maintains a specific opening schedule for its museums, but there may be changes depending on the day and month of the year.

    The Vatican Museum is closed on Sundays except for the last Sunday of each month.

    Besides Sundays, Vatican museums are closed on the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul (29 June), Christmas Day (25 December) and St Stephen’s Day (26 December)
