Cinecittà world theme park – the world of cinema

This is the first Italian amusement park dedicated to the world of cinema, which was created on the premises of the famous Cinecittà film studio in 2014. The park is divided into several themed zones dedicated to famous films – sci-fi, westerns, Indians. In 2009, the idea to build an amusement park on the territory of the Cinecittà film studio was born, choosing the site of the defunct studio of Dino De Laurentiis. Dante Ferretti, an acclaimed Italian production designer who won three Oscars, was commissioned to create the park.

Besides entertainment, a whole street with shops and cafes has been created, and new plants have been planted.

The amusement park covers an area of 150 hectares with 40 outdoor and indoor rides, 7 themed zones, 4 theatres, 3 laboratories, 4 restaurants.

The whole park is divided into themed zones dedicated to different films. The first zone: is the heart of the park, a place where you can go to different planets, go to the America of the 20s, fight monsters and plunge into the history of cinema.

Zones Roma is an area where you can immerse yourself in the times of ancient Rome.

Spaceland – part of the park is dedicated to the world of science fiction. You can also take part in laser battles with ultrasonic guns.

West – the wild and far West with cowboys, abandoned dungeons, horror houses and a virtual maze.

The Adventure Land zone is the park’s adventure land, where you’ll trek through a fascinating Indian jungle to find a lost temple.

Il Regno del Ghiaccio (Kingdom of Ice) is the first indoor snow park. It has four different rides in one pavilion where it snows all year round.

In the central part of the cinema park is the Piazza Dino De Laurentiis, who founded the Cinecittà film studio. There are also 4 themed theatres, which you don’t need to know the language to visit.

The first theatre, Enigma, immerses you in a world of illusion, tricking your thinking and senses. It is an original performance in 5 acts, with the aim of celebrating the magic of cinema and the mystery that is born within us.

The second theatre, Darkmare, takes the audience back to the black and white thriller/horror genre. The room is decorated in an infernal style based on Dante’s work.

The third theatre, “The Enchanted Projector,” is designed like a giant movie projector and is a multi-level playground that can hold up to 150 people.

The fourth theatre, “Action!” seats up to 250 people and hosts two shows. The first, titled “Auditions,” shows how actors are cast for a film and gets the audience involved in the process.

The second, “How a Film is Made,” shows the audience behind the scenes of the filmmaking process.

There are also 3 labs near Piazza Dino De Laurentiis.

The park is not open all days, please check with the managers.
